Feeding your goats Snacks & Treats certainly is not necessary. Really they just need good quality hay, fresh water, and minerals to be healthy. But, seriously, who doesn't like some good snacks and treats?
Snacks and treats are a fun way to interact with your goats, especially if you enjoy spending time with them other than just doing chores. At our farm, we have "Goat Happy Hour" 7 days a week right around sunset. Friends and family love to visit for this since it's a great time to interact with the goats and laugh at their antics. The goats really look forward to this time too and really get all wound up and playful too.
But just don't feed them too much of any snack. Believe it or not goats have a hard time digesting new things and can get an upset stomach or diarrhea from more than a few snacks.
Below are some of the snacks and treats we bring out during
"Goat Happy Hour".
Roasted & Unsalted peanuts. We get them at Rural King.
